1976-2022

In the fall of 1976, Frank Sevigne founded the Husker Track and Field Officials Association from a group of men and women who regularly volunteered their time to officiate the Nebraska track and field meets. Since the club’s formation, the members have displayed superb organization talent at the following meet: Russian vs. American Junior meet, 8 USATF Junior Olympics meets, 47 Husker Invitational meets, 19 Big 8 Indoor and Outdoor Championship meets, the inaugural Big 12 Indoor Championship meet, and 8 Big 12 Indoor Championships and the 2007 Big 12 Outdoor Championships since then. In 2012, the first ever combined men and women’s Big Ten Indoor Conference Championships, the 2016 Outdoor Big Ten Championships, the 2018 Big Ten Cross Country Championships, the 2003 and 2008 Midwest Regional Championships, 5 NAIA Indoor National Championships, the 2014 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships, as well as the University of Nebraska regular season meets, Lincoln Track Club events and local high school meets. Several Husker Officials have officiated USATF, NAIA, and NCAA meets, conference, regional, and national championships across the USA.

The Executive Committee contains the officers of the club and all ex-Husker Official Association presidents. Past presidents include Alex Czeranko, Glen Moss, Bob White, Patrick Campbell, Frank Karnes, Ralph King, Forrest Doling, George O’Boyle, Al Papik, Russ White, Hollis Anderson, Russ Huetson, Jim Kopetka, Duane Eversoll, Jim McLaughlin, Mike Maryott, Tom Bassett, Lori Vick, and Lisa Greathouse. All head officials and a large majority of the assisting officials are USATF certified.
